map

Galaxy star count

Sets the number of stars generated for each galaxy-size selection.

Notes: The Maximum layout remains dynamically derived from its star count unless its automatic field is disabled.

  • Configuration path: map star_count
  • Accepted input: 6 entries
  • Entry names: Galaxy size

Built-in default configuration

map star_count =

Examples

map star_count maximum = 99;

Galaxy layout

Configures map bounds, spacing, display scale, and zoom for each galaxy size.

Planet-special weighted chances

Sets the authoritative weighted-chance table for generated planet and system specials.

Notes: The selector deliberately forces No Special to zero. The unused Orion entry remains a weighted retry outcome.

Built-in default configuration

map planet_special_chance =

Examples

map planet_special_chance wormhole = 5;

Star-special selection threshold

Sets the independent threshold for attempting special selection at an eligible star.

Notes: Selection is attempted when Random(100) is greater than this value. The default therefore attempts selection on 36 of 100 possible results.

  • Configuration path: map star_special_chance
  • Accepted input: a number
  • Accepted values: type minimum to 100

Built-in default configuration

map star_special_chance = 64;

Configures BC awarded for Space Debris and Pirate Cache discoveries.

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events system_discovery_bc = 50 100;

Examples

events system_discovery_bc space_debris = 50;
events system_discovery_bc pirate_cache = 100;

Space Dragon bribe

Sets the BC required to send a Space Dragon to another system.

Notes: The restored player treasury remains signed 32-bit storage, so values above its maximum are rejected.

  • Configuration path: events dragon_bribe_bc
  • Units: BC
  • Accepted input: a number
  • Accepted values: type minimum to 2147483647

Built-in default configuration

events dragon_bribe_bc = 500;

Examples

events dragon_bribe_bc = 500;

Donation event BC

Configures the base and turn-scaled BC granted by Donation events.

Notes: The award is floor(turn / turn_divisor) times multiplier plus base.

  • Configuration path: events donation_bc
  • Units: turns or BC
  • Accepted input: Donation event BC

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events donation_bc = 20 100 100;

Examples

events donation_bc = 20 100 100;

Pirate Raid treasury loss

Configures the random and fixed percentages used to calculate Pirate Raid losses.

Notes: The loss percentage is Random(random_percent) plus fixed_percent.

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events pirate_raid = 21 29;

Examples

events pirate_raid = 21 29;

Supernova research response

Configures research contributions toward preventing a Supernova.

Notes: The configured minimum is added to the system's total colony research when calculating the required research per turn. Zero preserves classic behavior and MOO2 1.50's default.

  • Configuration path: events supernova
  • Units: research points per turn
  • Accepted input: named fields

Fields

  • minimum_research_per_turn - Minimum research per turn: Additional system-wide research required per turn to prevent a Supernova. Accepted input: a number. Saved in saved games. Synchronized and must match.

Built-in default configuration

events supernova = 0;

Examples

events supernova minimum_research_per_turn = 10;

Computer Virus research loss

Configures the random and fixed research loss caused by a Computer Virus event.

Notes: The event removes Random(random_research) plus fixed_research points, capped at the player's accumulated research. Defaults preserve classic behavior and MOO2 1.50.

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events computer_virus = 50 50;

Examples

events computer_virus random_research = 50;

Random event delays

Sets the per-event minimum game turn for random-event selection.

Notes: The generator's global turn-50 gate still applies, so values below 50 do not permit earlier selection. Hyperspace flux additionally blocks comet and space-monster events. Mutiny and Warp Funnel retain their native table positions even though the original event generator does not complete them. Unlike MOO2 1.50 CFG files, use mineral_depletion instead of overworking for event 11.

  • Configuration path: events event_delay
  • Units: turns
  • Accepted input: 29 entries
  • Entry names: Random event

Built-in default configuration

Examples

events event_delay mineral_depletion = 0;
events event_delay space_amoeba = 100;

Global random-event delay

Sets the minimum game turn before any random event can be selected.

Notes: This applies to ordinary and Lucky random-event selection before the per-event event_delay threshold.

  • Configuration path: events all_events_delay
  • Units: turns
  • Accepted input: a number

Built-in default configuration

events all_events_delay = 50;

Examples

events all_events_delay = 50;

Random-event spacing

Sets the minimum number of turns without a random event before ordinary random-event probability can advance.

Notes: This does not delay Lucky random events. The maximum preserves MOO2 1.50's unsigned seven-bit configuration domain.

  • Configuration path: events between_events_delay
  • Units: turns
  • Accepted input: a number
  • Accepted values: type minimum to 127

Built-in default configuration

events between_events_delay = 5;

Examples

events between_events_delay = 5;

Random-event roll bounds

Configures the random-roll bounds for ordinary and Lucky random-event checks.

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events roll = 512 1000;

Examples

events roll all_events = 512;
events roll lucky_player = 1000;

Random event durations

Configures minimum durations and stop-roll bounds for Hyperspace Flux, Time-Space Anomaly, and Warp Beast events.

Notes: An event can end randomly only after its minimum duration; each event retains the native 20-turn hard cap.

Fields

Built-in default configuration

events duration = 4 4 4 20 20 20;

Examples

events duration anomaly_min = 4;
events duration beast_chance = 20;
